Maxwell's Silver Hammer; A Stone Masons Tale

Before our ascent up Regensburg Dom (Cathedral) we were welcomed at the Stone Masons Lodge and the Dom Archives by the Master Mason and the Architect of the Dom. The skill of the carvers never ceases to amaze me. The German masons have a strong tradition of apprenticeship and German Journeymen, known for their skill, can also be found working at York Minster.

He served his time well.
A buttress section awaits the carver.
A finished pinnacle months in the making.
Silent Saints observe the masons at work.
The masons are trained to make their own tools in the house forge.
The lodge full of natural light to carve by.
